5 Ways to Work Out with a Busy Work Schedule

BRAND’S® Article - Five Ways to Work Out with a Busy Work Schedule

Many of us probably lead a lifestyle marked by too much work and too little exercise. Or perhaps we just don’t feel energised enough to get active. The truth is, the key to feeling better, having more energy and even performing more productively at work is physical activity. Exercising regularly is a way of strengthening our bones and muscles, and at the same time, reducing our risk of developing joint and bone problems. Here are five ways that you can keep active if you lead a busy schedule:

1. Keep on moving

Turn your daily commute into a form of exercise. Alight a stop earlier and walk to the office, or take the stairs instead of the lift. If you’re in a deskbound job, get up and walk the hallways, or work while standing at your desk. The more time you spend on your feet, the better it is for you to build and maintain bone density.

2. Find a fitness buddy

If you lack motivation, it’ll probably be difficult for you to complete a workout on your own. Which is why roping a colleague or a friend along can help you to better meet your fitness goals. It also helps if your workout buddy is fitter or more experienced, so he or she can encourage you in your workouts.

3. Lunchtime crunch time

Put lunchtime into effective use by enrolling in an express fitness class. Many gyms offer short classes such as a 20-minute high-intensity interval training. Or if you prefer to go at it alone, spend 15 minutes on the treadmill to work up a sweat. Running or walking on a machine can help to increase bone density and prevent bone loss.

4. Home sweet workout

Or simply get fit from the comfort of your own home. Turn TV time into a workout. Tune into a YouTube fitness channel for a slew of workouts, from simple stretches, light cardio exercises to butt-kicking boot camp regimens. These can help to strengthen your joints and improve your flexibility.

5. Supplement your routine

Once the right habits are in place, the right supplement can also help to improve your overall bone and joint health
